First Full Week!

We have just completed our first full week of school!  Our schedule for specials is the following:

Monday: Library (students may check five books out a t a time)

Tuesday: Art, P.E.(please make sure your child has sneakers to wear), Guidance/Health

Thursday: Music

Friday: Music, Foreign Culture

As a class we have developed a list of appropriate behaviors  that every child has agreed to demonstrate in ALL classes in order that everyone can learn in a respectful and safe environment. Please review this list with your child:

Mrs. Farnsworth and I also use this Missing/Incomplete Homework form to keep you informed if your child is not completing homework (please note 5 points will be deducted from unexcused late work). If your child brings one of these forms home please sign and return it.

This week students in grades 3-6 have worked on their Fall Writing Prompts. Your child's Language Arts teacher will score the prompt using a common rubric(which students are familiar with) and another 3-6 teacher will double score it as well.  This assessment is used to set writing goals with each child as he/she identifies their strengths and weaknesses.

Divisibility Rules have been introduced in Math. Your child was given a paper copy of these rules and the rules are posted in the class room as well. You may want to have your child keep this paper in his/her homework folder or keep it at home in their homework area.

MEEP visited fifth and sixth graders this week and involved them in activities exploring wind power called "Kid Wind."

A reminder: School photos will be taken on Tuesday.
